The Installation Process

When it comes to the installation process, you can rely on Swain & Rands to have the whole process covered from start-to-finish. We don’t just come in midway through and take over, we’re with you from the outset, right until the end. The first step will be removing your old conservatory roof, so that it can be replaced with the new Warmer Roof unit by Swain & Rands. The eaves beam will then be added to the conservatory frame.

Once the new frame is in place, the next step is to install the sections that contain the insulation. The insulation is important for maintaining a comfortable internal temperature at all times. Individual pods and insulation will be glued and bolted into position. A waterproof felt membrane will be installed, and this is crucial as, without this membrane, water will seep through when it rains.

The next step is to make sure that the eaves are fully protected. The eaves protection is fitted, and our team will make sure that everything is secure. Next comes the fascia and gutter fixing and final plastering, both of which are essential. Not only do these features add to the overall aesthetics, they also serve a practical purpose too.

Warmer Roof products supplied by Swain & Rands have been designed to replace the roofs of existing conservatories. Homeowners will be able to benefit from a U-Value of 0.14. A U-Value is, in short, a way of measuring the overall rate of heat transfer. This is typically a measure of all standard mechanisms under standard conditions.

The accepted rule is that the lower the U-Value, the more efficient the construction. With an excellent U-Value of just 0.14, we think you’ll agree that a solid roof conservatory from Swain & Rands is a worthwhile investment. All installation work will be handled by our professional team in accordance with your budget and requirements. Once your conservatory has been installed, we’ll ensure that everything is left neat and tidy ready to be used.

Why Choose Such an Option?

You’re perhaps wondering to yourself why you should choose to invest in a solid roof conservatory. The answer is simple – such an investment is a great way of extending your living space, providing comfort and an area to relax in regardless of the weather. You can enjoy your garden all year long, even when it’s raining. Plus, unlike conventional conservatories, the Warmer Roof system consists of a tiled roof.

This not only gives the conservatory more strength and durability, but it also helps with thermal performance keeping the interior space warm in the winter and cool in the summer. With such an installation in place, you’ll enjoy the relaxed, private ambience as well as a feature that blends seamlessly with the rest of your property.

The beauty of these conservatories is that they incorporate the latest technologies while remaining affordable. This means that you won’t end up breaking the bank in your endeavour to extend your living space and build onto your garden.

What are the Benefits?

If you’re wondering about the benefits of investing in a new conservatory, continue reading to find out more. There are many reasons as to why you simply cannot do without a conservatory, and more and more people are now realising the benefits of choosing a tiled roof conservatory. Continue reading to find out more.

Versatility

When you think conservatory, the first thing that springs to mind for most people is a glass or polycarbonate roof. With tiles, however, solid roof conservatories of any style can be worked on. For instance, you might have Edwardian tiled roofs or a Gable front conservatory; if this is the case, at Swain & Rands, we have a bespoke option to suit. By the time we’re finished, you’ll be convinced that the new extension has always been a part of the property.

Outstanding Thermal Efficiency

Tiles, when compared to glass, are far more thermally efficient. Such roofs allow for additional layers of insulation to be installed. The addition of this extra insulation means that your conservatory can be enjoyed all year long. As well as a more comfortable living space, you’ll also notice that your energy bills will be a lot cheaper. This is in stark contrast to glass or polycarbonate roofs.

Improved Acoustic Performance for Solid Roofs

As well as improved thermal performance, tiled roofs also help to enhance acoustic performance too. Glass and polycarbonate roofs aren’t very effective at dampening external noise and can even amplify it under certain circumstances. Tiled roofs, on the other hand, can reduce external noise by up to 30 decibels thanks to the design and the way that the roof is built.

Solid Roof Conservatories Equal Better Aesthetics

The great thing about tiled roof conservatories is that they do wonders for the appearance of any property. With so many colour options available, Swain & Rands can design your conservatory in keeping with the rest of your home. Once work is completed, you’ll be assured of better aesthetics, which will not only make your property look fantastic, but also help with the next point.

Improves the Market Value

A conservatory such as this will serve to increase the value of your property, ensuring that you get more than you paid for when you first moved in. There are many reasons for this, with the biggest reason being the improved aesthetics. Usability is also a factor as well as the knock-on effect such an addition has on comfort levels and your energy bills.

Retain that Traditional Conservatory Look and Feel

Opting for a solid roof conservatory doesn’t mean that you have to give up on the light offered by a traditional design. Tiled roofs can be enhanced by the addition of skylights, which will allow natural light to flow throughout while preserving the homely ambience that is in keeping with the rest of your property. With Swain & Rands, you really can have the best of both worlds.
